The Mirror

A Poem

A child’s toy

Inside a doll’s house we abide

Oh, joy! Augmentation

Superpowers of elation

Superhighway to frustration

That siren call, connection

A knife edge, an inflection

Confronted with our own reflection

Do we gaze thereon

Or turn and run?

This lone hermetic venture

Grants none, asks no quarter

A point of no return

Inexorably

Drawn in
