Minnesota

My new single, Minnesota, is coming soon to all major streaming services.
I wrote Minnesota after returning from an idyllic and productive weekend in Los Angeles to the news of Alex Pretti’s murder by ICE thugs. America is broken. I don’t know what else to say…

After the Fires

My single After the Fires is out on all major streaming services.
I wrote After the Fires in 2023 and recorded it in 2024, originally for a climate change awareness project. I had just finished mastering it late last year and was prepared to release it, when the devastating fires in Los Angeles happened in January. I have waited a while to release it, out of respect. But the climate continues to “change,” so there is no time like the present to share this song.

THE GREAT RESIGNATION

The Great Resignation is out now on all major streaming services. I wrote and recorded these songs inspired by my decision to leave my full-time tech career and go back to my first love, music. You can read more here.
Judgment Day, the Musical

In 2025 we re-released the concept album Judgment Day, my musical about the end of the world, with new and updated material.
More than a decade in the making, Judgment Day explores themes like belief, skepticism, judgment, love and loss. And while the framework of the story is based on the Christian Book of the Revelation, it’s an agnostic work that leaves any final, um, judgments up to the audience.

Upcoming Projects

These are, I hope, the first of several music projects I plan to unleash on the world in the near future. And it’s just the latest step on my lifetime journey of making music. After a nearly thirty-year period of back-burnering my creative side, I am bringing it to the fore now.
I have a second musical in the oven that I am currently creating the demos for. I will likely also release less ambitious things like mpre singles and records too… they don’t all have to be epics!

Earlier Work
Bluebird: David Bowie Tribute Band
In 2016, the year that my idol passed away, I put together a tribute band called Bluebird (inspired by a song lyric in the title song of his final album, Lazarus). We did a tiny, highly stylized warehouse gig and Tibetan Book of the Dead ceremony called Bowie Bardo. Here are some videos from that show.
That modest beginning led to Bluebird headlining at San Francisco Pride 2016! I don’t seem to have any video of that show, but here’s a great shot of me fronting and singing “Heroes”. Pinch me! It was a bucket list moment, even though it wasn’t the best of circumstances…

DJ Christ, Superstar
In 1999, my longtime Metaverse partner in crime Mark Pesce and I, along with my Bluebird bandmate Paul Godwin created a unique adaptation of Jesus Christ, Superstar for the Burning Man festival. After four months of prep, a cast and crew of fifty loaded in at Black Rock Desert to perform a modern, crazed, drug-filled but musically faithful (though quite remixed) adaptation of the beloved musical. Mark and I wrote the book, Mark directed, and Paul and I starred as Simon Zealotes and Caiaphas, respectively. This project in no small way led to me conceiving and writing Judgment Day a few years later.
Boston Bands (1980’s and 1990’s)
From the early 1980’s I was in indie bands in Boston, including My Hip and The MIA’s, two seminal postpunk acts, and part of a rotating cast that cycled through several bands together.
